Possilpark Business Improvement District
Possilpark Business Improvement District – or Possilpark BID for short – is now up and running as a pilot project.
It’s very early days for us and sadly, coronavirus has curtailed some of our plans in the short term. However, we are doing all we can to keep moving forward within the current and varying lockdown restrictions.
The Scottish and UK governments have offered support to businesses at this unprecedented time and you will find links to this and more on the NEWS page.
We wish you all to remain safe and well and look forward to exciting times ahead.

The weekly update from Find Business Support Scotland is accessed via the link below and provides a good overview of a wide range of resources for the business community.
We successfully generated Scottish Government grant funding to develop a number of shop fronts on Saracen Street. Glasgow City Council approved the planning application at the end of July 2020 and a detailed set of plans will be on display in November 2020 bringing the overall scheme to life and illustrating its heritage focus.
Further grant funding was approved to install a number of planters on Saracen Street. We are producing bespoke planters that take their design inspiration from the area’s industrial heritage.
We are entering into an arrangement with NWH waste supplier to improve the overall waste management on Saracen Street. This involves us provided a range of waste bags to local traders and businesses. If you would like to be involved, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks to local traders, community groups across the area and ng homes Saracen Street will be illuminated this festive season – hooray! A 20′ xmas tree will be installed in the usual spot and enhanced by three cross-span lights the length of Saracen Street that you may remember from last year. It’s been a labour of love to get to this point, well done all those involved thus far!
This striking logo has been designed by award-winning Glasgow based designer, Maeve Redmond. Maeve came up with the concept by looking at the retail heritage of Saracen Street. We particularly like that there are versions for business and community and a combination of both – perfectly sums up what Possilpark BID is all about. Maeve has a permanent exhibition at Dundee’s V&A on the Saracen Foundry too. You can see all her work at https://maeveredmond.co.uk/about
